Ryder Cup 2018
You will not have long to wait if you want to experience golfing at its very best, for the 2018 Ryder Cup is all scheduled to start on the 28th of September 2018 and it will be ending a couple of days later that being on the 30th of September.
This year marks the forty second running of the Ryder Cup, and this year it will be held over in France and the course that has the honour of hosting that even is the Albatros Course of Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, which is located just southwest of Paris.
There is of course, as you would expect a lot of movement already on the early betting markets for the Ryder Cup this year, however it is going to be a very close-run tournament, and the captains of each team are Thomas Bjørn for Europe and the very experienced Jim Furyk for the USA.
As the early betting markets are now open you can start placing your bets and wagers right now, but keep in mind that there will be additional betting opportunities other than you simply picking whether Europe or the USA will win.
Therefore, if you do have a couple of spare minutes, then please do feel free to read on, as by doing so I will be giving you below an overview of the current betting markets but also giving you some ideas regarding some additional betting opportunities that are also available.
Ryder Cup 2018 Win and Tie Odds
You are not going to get rich when betting on the outright winner betting markets, if you do fancy placing a bet on either Europe to win or the USA to win this year, for the betting markets, as usual, make it a close-run thing bet wise!
It is currently Europe that are deemed to be the underdogs on plenty of betting sites, and the best odds I have so far come across on Europe winning the Ruder Cup this year are 6/5, but by signing up to a new betting site you haven’t bet at before, you may be offered a free matched bet if you place your initial wager on Europe to win.
The favourites to win are of course the USA, and you will have to act quickly if you are going to be able to claim the 5/6 odds on them winning This tournament this year, for I expect there to be a rush of bets being placed on the USA as the date of this tournaments gets much closer.
If you are prepared to through caution to the win, and want to bet on the event ending a tie, then you will be rewarded with odds of around the 10/1 mark, however those bets will be purely speculative for the chances of the Ruder Cup 2018 ending in a tie are tiny, but there will be more than enough betting sites prepared to lay you those odds.
Additional Ryder Cup Betting Opportunities
As you have just found out, when placing a bet on the Ryder Cup on the outright betting market the betting odds that are on offer are not that impressive, unless you choose to play a tie bet, but the chances of the event ending in a tie are low. There will however be an abundance of additional bets that you can choose to place on this golf tournament, and it will be on the individual matches played that you are going to find some much more attractive odds being offered to you.
You can bet on each individual game being played, and the odds on each golfer playing in those individual games will give you an insight into their chances of winning, and the tie bet is also available on each match played too.
One often overlooked bet type of any golfing event or match is a hole in one bet, and to win when pacing such a bet you much select which golfer you think is going to score a hole in one, and each betting sites will of course be offering their own unique set of odds on such a thing happening.
Also, checkout each of our featured online and mobile betting sites, for by doing so you are going to be offered all manner of unique and often unusual betting opportunities on every single up and coming golf tournament, many of which may just be of interest to you if you do fancy placing a few exotic types of bets!
Winners of the Ryder Cup in Years Gone By
Whilst past form of the two teams that take part in the Ryder Cup is never going to give you an indication of just which team will win the next one, below you will find the most recent outcomes of this major golfing event.
In 2016 is was the United States that manged to win by a score of 17–11 and in that year the event was hosted at the Hazeltine National Golf Club, which is in Chaska, Minnesota.
Two years prior to the match above in 2014 it was the turn of Europe to win this event and they did so with a score of 16½–11½, that even was held in Scotland at the Gleneagles, PGA Centenary Course, which located in Perth and Kinross.
Those of you who have been a fan of golf for many years will probably also remember the 2012 Ryder Cup, for it was a hard-won battle that eventually saw Europe win with a score of 14½–13½ and for reference that event was held at the Medinah Country Club, Course 3, which is located at Medinah in Illinois.
In 2010 it was Europe who managed to win, by the same score they beat the USA in the event mentioned above, that being with a score of 14½–13½ and it was over in Wales in the UK that event was held at the Celtic Manor Resort, Twenty Ten Course, which is located in Newport.
